2003 E46 330ci - noise from front shock?

Hi folks

whilst going over particularly brutal speed humps (at a very low speed) I noticed that there was a wierd noise coming from the front right of the car...I am presuming it is the shock and it is making a sort of 'pffffft' noise.

it is only noticeable when the radio is off and windows down - question is - is this a normal noise for it to make?

normal speed humps don;t seem to make the noise but the narrow, tall humps seem to prompt it.

I know the noise you speak of and firmly believe it is normal - gas shock absorbers do this.
I get it on my car, front and rear both sides. I got it on my last car (Saab 9-5) so I wouldn't worry.

thanks for the replies folks - martyn, no definitely not a creaking noise.

i'll keep an eye on it and try to get a sound recording of it when i am next going over those speed humps.

Is it like a pfft noise? Mine does the same, isn't it just the gas moving around the shock?

Mine does that aswel when going over large humps
