petrols is usually mostly english i think i dont know on the 318 somebody else may confirm?

330 petrol is mostly english but as its, factory beta diags software, its not a complete finished product, and has some german script here and there the important bits are mostly english...

I had a german version before that came with a cable, ended up binning it and buying another disc off ebay.

Having a problem changing laptops now if anyone can help? Ive been using an older one with a serial lead and version 5 of INPA, no problems with battery or ignition lights. Ive now changed to a laptop with only USB ports and am using a lead I had off a mate, it has BMW Cables on a label on it, I've loaded the same version 5 of inpa and was getting a WIN32 error which maybe part of the problem, but inpa starts up fine, shows battery light constantly but no ignition light, works as far as selecting the ECU type, then gives an error cannot connect to control unit

Is it likely to be a compatibility issue between the version of inpa and the lead?

Thanks for the guide & download

Just to say thanks to dd for the idiots guide - worked like a charm on my Win 7 laptop with an £8 Ebay lead I found by searching for "vagcom FT232RL". I did the soldering trick on pins 7-8 and used it to clear an airbag error needed to pass the MOT on my son's 325 ti. He had the classic airbag duff wiring problem under the passenger seat. The local dealer wanted £40 just to do a diagnostic check, plus god know how much to fix the actual problem. So we managed to sort it with some electrical contact cleaner and the magic lead + INPA - thanks to dd. Big Cheers!

Dailydoggy, thanks for the link. I'm sure I'll be back with questions. Was starting to worry inpa did not work on Alpinas. Turns out, it was the cable. Got one with green circuit board from Germany and it works great now.

Had a broken wire in the boot gaiter that I didn't notice, caused a short out error on he light module and now no reverse or internal boot lights. Need to read up on resetting the short out error on the light module now. I know it can be done.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Cheers for the link again!
