i would suspect the idle control valve...sometimes a soak in petrol can free things up.
is it any better in the colder months?

 

they can shake missfire slightly when they have bin left a few days i think its damp myself..

or tired and worn spark plugs..

 

or even a tired cam sensor that gets better as it warms up.
a fault code reading might help narrow things down

 

ive done a diagnostic scan and no faults come up do you guys think its the spark plugs

 

if they haven't been changed for a while then it could well be.

I was having similar issues on my 330ci. I changed my spark plugs a few weeks ago and the problem has since disappeared.

I used the NGK paltinum plugs on my car as I found the borsch ones to be rather sh1t.

 

My money's on the ICV! Costs nothing to take it off and clean it, so why not start there first?

 

done the spark plugs,fuel filter,air filter and it still shakes from cold for about 30sec and then it runs fine car has done 52 thousand miles.

 

has it got an air pump???

could it be the vanos seals.

 

i doubt it unplug the vanos inlet control plug see wot it runs like when its started it will be in limp mode but if it smooths out on start it might point towards vanos issue or a cam sensor..

 

My revs used to bounce up and down at idle, this would cause the engine to shake when it almost stalled out. Removed ICV, blasted with a can of carb cleaner, put it back in and hey presto, problem solved. Give it a whirl, take you an hour tops and cost maybe 2 quid?

 

but my revs dont bounce from cold they stay at 1000rpm then drop to 600 rpm but the engine shakes and when i put it in 1gear and drive it i have to rev the car to about 1500rpm to not stall the car and some times the car jumps in first gear like a kangaroo

 

sounds like a clutch problem mate, does it judder and struggle to pull away when you are trying to get the clutch engaged?

 

could be a candidate to remove the CDV how long have you owned the car?

 

im sure the clutch is fine i own the car about 1 month

 

whats the mileage?

 

52k i took it to bmw garage and they said i could be crankshaft sensor or throttle body.
