Hi all, got a weird one and I don't want to pay for diagnostics just yet...
I have an intermittent fault. If i'm stopped in the car with my foot on the brake (auto H is OFF), and the car is in Drive, sometimes when i take my foot off the brake the car doesn't creep forward as it's supposed to.
I'll be on flat ground too so that isn't the problem. When the brake is fully released I have to press on the accelerator to get the car to move, and sometimes it jolts forward as if the brakes were still applied until they were abruptly released.
Additionally, sometimes when parked, with my foot on the brake and with the parking brake either on or off, the car won't go into Drive or Reverse unless I release my foot off the brake until it is nearly completely off. Then the car has no problem going into D or R.
I originally thought this was gearbox related, however I'm beginning to think it's brake related.
I have access to a BMW fault code scanner and got the following back:
EGS Transmission Management:
11H - Please refer to service manual!
32H - Plreas refer to service manual!
DSC (Bosch) Dynamic Stability Control:
EMF: Brake cannot be mechanically applied.
I'm really stuck for ideas of what to do here... The problem started about a month ago, and I had the rear brake pads and sensor changed about 2 weeks ago thinking that this would fix it, however the problem still exists. It IS intermittent, and it's very hard to describe so I'm sorry if this made no sense.
I know mines a Hybrid but I didn't think this would make much difference - anyone seen anything similar on any others?
Thanks,
Dom
