I have now fitted e46 wishbones, with e46 wishbone 60mm bushes, also put in 4mm rack spacers. So lock mods are:- Modded Hubs 20mm shorter, 4mm rack spacers, 25mm wheel spacers, 7.5mm of washers for more camber, e46 wishbones. It needs an alignment, but sits like this atm. I have about 5mm gap between wheel and wishbone. When its jacked up, wheel hits the wishbone on full lock.

Think only benefit is wider track, they are 1" wider than e36 wishbones, which creates the camber. My camber is increased more by adding washers.
You can buy adjustable top mounts, fit them wrong way round and move it closer to the wing to reduce camber.
But as mine is only used for drifting, I need the camber for grip when on opposite lock.

It is a straight swap, just you need to buy 60mm e46 wishbone rear bushes, which will need to be pressed into your e36 "lollipop". With standard lock, the wheel will be nowhere near the wishbone.

iv looked at some pics now and the rear bush carrier is different. so will my polly bush slide on to the shaft? and it just bolt up?
As above, they will not fit if you have e36 poly bushes, as you need e46 bushes. You can make them fit by grinding the end of the wishbone round.
or buy e46 60mm poly bushes to fit into your e36 "lollipop". I bought these POWERFLEX PFF5-4601 BMW E46 CONTROL ARM BUSHES (PAIR) | eBay just make sure to ask for 60mm bushes.

You might need longer tie rods, if so use e92 tie rods (these are 277.5mm total length) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220650543856 I didn't as mine appear to be long enough, but getting alignment next week to make sure.
