40-42 rears 30-32 fronts.. if they are 18 inch staggered BMW wheels..

 

yes 18" staggered, problem is the rears are wearing in the middles ?? surly this means over inflated please help

 

mine are running 32 front 38 rear and mine are wearing in the middle...going to try 36 in the back to see how that works

 

i reckon 40 in the rear is too much ?? thats why the middle wears

 

36-38 in the back matey, like you say wearing in the middle means they are over inflated. 40 is fine if you always have people in the back or tools in the boot etc.

i run at 40-42 rears always have done no problems..

saloon tho if that makes any difference..

 

mines a saloon to but like i say had 40 in the rears and noticed wear in middle of both tyres ?/ they aint cheap either.. think i need to lower the pressure to see how this helps

 

mine got a bit sloppy and lurchy with lower pressures..

falkens are cheap enuff marvelous tyre..

did have michelins many moons ago they eventually wore toward the middle tho..falkens fine tho..

 

have a look at your door pillar should state correct pressures

 

Dont different manufacturers recommend different pressures ??

 

as tilly said check the sticker on drivers door should give you correct pressures for different size wheels and loadings.

 

put standard recommended pressure up front and 38 psi on the back, its a great set up. you'll get a touch more traction on the back and you won't over inflate the tires. That's what I use after testing different set ups. this set up is great for driver and 1 passenger, anymore than that then u should stick to normal recommended tire pressures.
