Hi, sorry I have tried to look through other threads but then you all get techy and I’m lost 🙄 🤦🏻‍♀️

Car is standard as bought, no tweeks or anything.. Got a set of 19” M performance wheels on.. 7j front.. 8j back.. front tyres are 225/35 on the front and 235/30 on the back.. one rear wheel is damaged, repaired twice, need to call it a day and replace.. Fine.. But looking around and on eBay etc, all the rears seem to have 255/35 on them?

If I decide to buy a used wheel, should I be looking to put my current 235/30 on it, or change my other tyre (it’s due changing soon anyway) to a 255/35??

I like the low profile look (albeit it’s nightmare to live with)

OR…. Finding it a LOT easier to find the 8.5J wheels.. but not sure if it would be a problem putting my 235/30 tyres on them 😬

Thank you.. that is what I was running with in my head, and finding an 8J is like a needle in a haystack, but the 8J I found has a tyre, but was 255 too, just like all the 8.5J.. I expect it on the 8.5J, it just threw me on the 8J as it’s a way off my 235, so just wondering whose got the ‘wrong’ or ‘better’ set up.. them, or me and if it’s better to go with their tyre or mine 🤔

sounds mad to me so skinny a tyre like 7.5 j on a decently powerful car,,

Also watch out for copies - BMW didn't do a 8.5" wide in 19" so chances are the ones on ebay are replicas/copies

For the avoidance of doubt the M240i set up with Style 405M alloys is:

19x7.5J ET45 with 225/35r19 p/n: 36116796220
19x8J ET52 with 245/30r19 p/n: 36116796221

:)
