Every time I put my key in the ignition I get a bong and a yellow warning me of an "SOS call system failure". I'm not alone: there are pages and pages on this online, and the problem seems to be either a fault within the Telematics Control Unit, or simply the fact that I'm not paying an annula subscription to the BMW system that delivers the service.

Unsurprisingly, it seems very hard to disable this electrically. Pulling fuses and unplugging things makes no difference.

Has anyone had any luck disabling this system via coding?

Why do you want to disable that?"......

When you press the SOS button,, it connects you directly with the BMW help centre, it could save your life.

So if you don't have your mobile phone with you, and you are involved in an accident, press this button for help.
There is an o2 SIM card within your car which is live all the time, with no fees to pay.

You should visit your dealer to get this fault rectified.

Hi all!

A couple weeks ago got this message and can’t get rid of it.
I have iPod interface instead of cd changer, and iPod stopped charging right after this happend. Interesting, that by itself it still playing, and iDrive can recognize it. I have checked battery, it was low (11.4V), so I’ve desided to replace it and I was sure that error was caused by low battery. Well, I’ve replaced battery today, but error still there.
Any ideas how to check ipod interface wiring?

I have e61, but it shouldn’t make any difference?
