Ridex Parts - any experience?

I'm going to do a refresh of my rear suspension control arms while I'm replacing worn wheel bearings. The car is over 15 years old and still on original parts and is getting a bit sloppy.

I want to keep the costs down as much as possible as I just use the car for short commutes to work and occasional weekend use. I do the work myself so I dont mind if the cheaper parts don't last as long as Lemforder, etc which are several times more expensive.

With that, has anyone had any experience with Ridex? I mean actual experience.......unqualified opinions from brand snobs and the "you shouldn't own a BMW if...." brigade are not required.

Thanks
UW

I used a rear suspension arm and bush kit on my e92 that had ridex branded upper arms in along with some meyle for other bits. In all honesty I didn’t find an issue with them seemed decent quality. Can’t vouch for longevity though as only kept car for another 12 months 15k miles after doing the work.

So my parts order arrived today. I had purchased from Autodoc before and order processing was quite slow. This time however, the order was processed and delivered in 4 days so was happy with that.....

Anyway, the order comprised mainly of Lem and TRW parts....all good. However, the two Ridex control arms (left and right) came in quite different packaging. On further inspection it was obvious that these came from different sources, and everything about them was different. The biggest difference being the bushes, with one bush appearing to be a much heavier-duty item. While I'm sure they both perform they job they're supposed to do, its annoying that they're not a matched pair. I'm planning a refresh of my front suspension but I'll be avoiding Ridex.

Quick update on this thread........Following on from my dissatisfaction with my Ridex parts, I left not too glowing feedback on Trustpilot.

Shortly afterwards, I got a response to my feedback from Ridex requesting that I contact Autodoc to try to resolve the issue. I wasn't bothered to follow through on this and had written off the cost of the parts. A couple of days later, Autodoc reached out to me looking for my order details and some pictures of the parts in question. I obliged and another couple of days later they responded to say that one of the parts was incorrectly flagged as being suitable for my car and they have since corrected their system. They fully refunded the cost of the parts and in addition gave me a voucher against my next order as a goodwill gesture.

I know Autodoc has received a lot of flack for customer service (from me included) but in this instance the went way beyond expectations to put this right.

I'm also happy that the difference in the Ridex parts was due to an error rather than just being down to random parts sourcing. The parts in and of themselves seem to be good quality so would give them try again in the future.
