Hi,

I have a bmw E90 2010 320d, when I press the demister/defogger button on or off, it makes a clicking sound, iv traced the clicking sound to the glovebox light.

when you turn it on (demister/defogger) the glovebox light seems to dim slightly and you can hear the click sound more apparently as the glove box is open.

It never did this before, please any suggestions on this?

Please note it isnt a constant click sound, just every time it is pressed to turn on or off.

I would appreciate any feedback on this please.

Hi

Thanks for your reply, I have noticed when running the battery test on the kombi while engine is on idling, the 'UB' voltage is at 14.7v 14.8v as soon as I press that rear demister button it drops to 13.5v and then a split second jumps back upto 14.6v to 14.7v

I have also noticed that click sound when I start or shut the car through the start button, when you actually crank it up, not through just start it up electronically wise.

Do you think by Changing the relay it would resolve it?

Would also like to add, my windscreen was replaced yesterday and from what I remember the only things the technician disconnected was the 2 water jet connections and the water pipe and I think think a sensor need the cabin filter housing and from the inside the middle view mirror. The 2 connectors.

As far I remember there weren't any connectors or wires around the windscreen apart from the middle dimming mirror which he had disconnected prior.

The issue seemed to have started after this though which I find odd.
