Hi can anyone help with bmw e39 1998 tds, I have replaced water pump, sensor, temperature gauge expansion tank filler cap, but the heater gets hotter more on one side in the cabin, and after 10 minutes idling the temp gauge goes into the red zone, when I drive the car the temp gauge comes back down to normal, I have to run with air con switched on to keep cabin cooler!?

Still got air in it i think.
Did you bleed it with the heaters turned up to full hot.
The odd one can be a pain to get all the air out of the system and having to raise the front of the car can be of help.

I know you mention you have fitted a new water pump but on some the impeller slips on the shaft and does not circulate the water. This was a common failing. Have you changed the thermostat also. If both are good then I would vacuum bleed the cooling system as this is effective at removing airlocks.
