NOXEM vs NOX software delete/remap?

I have a 2011 E90 318i with the N43 engine. I have changed the injectors to index 11 and also the NOX sensor (multiple times) but the car keeps getting errors 2AF9 and 30EA. Basically, the NOX catalytic converter is toast and the NOX system has to be circumvented somehow.

There seem to be two way to go about it and I am looking for advice which option is better.

One is to install the NOXEM sensor replacement, which allegedly is a perfect solution apart from the cost and the possibility for it also breaking at some point.

Alternatively, some claim that a software NOX delete or remap can achieve the same result both cheaper and more reliably. However, others claim that the NOX delete only hides NOX codes but the car still is prevented from entering stratified charge and doind its constant injector adaptations.

What is the recommended approach?

Many thanks

I owned a 2009 320i with N43 engine for 5 years and the last 2 years I drove the car with with faulty Nox sensor. I did consider purchase a NOXEM and the price back then was about ÂŁ500 so no a easy decison on a aftermarket trick part :)

But the car never gave me any issues so never really got round to change. The error codes were always in the backgrond when scanned but it did not trigger a EML. I did have leaking injectors and eventually changed all 4, but thats different issue.

Its been a few years but I recall "stratified charge" is basicly engine running a bit lean when all conditions are met so maybe save some fuel. But I drive in the city, so the conditions hardly met for "stratified charge" so never really bothered me as engine was working fine.

I must point out the code I had was Nox sensor fail...not Nox converter fail. If I still owned the car, I would seek a professional to code it out instead of spending that much money on a trick device.
