I am sure I've asked this question before but cannot find the thread.
I've had the car for 3 1/2 yrs now (65 plate) and ever since the first hot weather I've been very surprised at just how noisy the blower is behind the dashboard on the passenger side. It seems to be connected with the hot weather so must be cold air associated. I always have the syatem in Auto and on it's lowest setting. Nearly everyone who gets in the car comments on how noisy it is. It's a loud, almost hollow sounding, blowing noise. The noise doesn't really get any louder when you turn the fan up in Auto. I initially thought that a hose had fallen off which accounted for the 'unducted' sound but the dealer assured me that it is normal. The tech pointed out that if you deselect Auto then the noise dies away which it does. He said that the noise is 'normal'.
Has anyone else noticed how loud the Air-Con seems to be at low settings? I could accept it if I was using max fan speed but I'm not. The noise is quite obtrusive and I have never had a car like this, cheap or expensive.
