N47 Engine Oil Question / Recommendation 5w30 or 0w30?

Hi Guys

Trawling the web has thrown up some conflict in engine oil choice. Some threads are recommending Castro Edge 5w30, others (including the Castrol site) is recommending 0w30?

Would using 5w30 be detrimental to the engine? Or not really discernible?

Look for bmw "LL04" on the can.
5w30 is ok as well.

No real difference between them BMW only use the 0w as factory fill because its the grade that will work in all markets as 0w works in temps down to -40 but as 5w will work down to -20 its fine to use in the UK

Thanks guys, I really hate to drag up a trivial "which oil" posts as they've been done to death but since I have 12ltrs of 5w30 I'll crack on!
