Hi guys, i am from over on babybmw.net and was told you are looking for a seventh person to go in on a group buy to get 17% off ecotunes prices.

Spoke to stan this morning an i am in. So how do we go about making this happen. Do i just pay stan the 50 quid deposit and mention this forum.

With the latest additions this morning, we're now 8 people, and awaiting confirmation from one more on babybmw, to make 9. Not bad going. Maybe we'll hit 10 by the end of the day?!

In regards to payment etc, basically I just collect the full list of names/emails/ph numbers and what each is interested in purchasing, then send that on to Ecotune. We then pay a £50 deposit (not sure yet if this can be done with PayPal or not), and have up to 6 weeks to pay the balance before they release the product to us.

I'll be contacting each individual soon to get your full details (hopefully you can also provide me with a link to the product(s) on the Ecotune site that you're after).

They are about ten minutes from my office and I'd been considering using them for a while.

I've just spoken with Stan at Ecotune and I'm filled with confidence about the service they offer and about the gains he's talking about. I have a 635d and he did two last week, one with the DPF removal and one without, he managed to achieve around what they are quoting me below.

Stage 1 - Remap/Calibration and Dyno time should provide around 340bhp and 500 ft1ps
Stage 2 - Remap, DPF Removal, Calilbration and Dyno time is looking like 370bhp and 540 ft1ps

They sent me over a couple of Dyno Graphs, one for a 335d and one for a 535d, I've attached these below:-

I was worried about the gearbox handling the torque and MOT time however Stan alleviated my concerns on both so I'm up for this, count me in on the group buy!

I have got my 535D into a garage for the DPF removal due to Limp mode and wanting a little more in the horses dept.... HOWEVER

They have removed the DPF, CAT, EGR, pipes yet the car still will not pull the skin off a rice pudding.?? Sometimes the glowplug light comes on sometimes it doesn't...It runs ok for a while, turn the key off and try again and nothing...

Anyone out there had some similar issues?? Got any ideas?? The car went into the garage for a days work and that was 2 weeks ago and my bill is gaining ££££££ fast :-(

Wow, that sucks Jason. I don't know what it could be, but it surely won't be the glow plugs or controller. I have a glow plug controller error when checked via INPA, but the glowplugs are really only ever used for (very) cold morning starts.

 

Hi Jason, I don't think you will get much joy posting your question in here, this is about a bunch of guys tuning there cars. Maybe try posting in a more relevant problem forum found in the main forum page.

I had a conversation with Stan about the Terraclean service as well, they do this in-house. My car has done 60,000 miles so it makes sense to do this as well after having a read up about it.

Fingers crossed yes! Six had paid when I spoke to Ecotune at half nine this morning, not too many to go.

I'm tempted by the Terraclean treatment they offer too.

 

Yeah, I've seen a few pics of cars my age and mileage where there's a fair amount of carbon deposits. If I'm spending what I am to get extra power and possibly more mpg it makes sense to spend slightly more to ensure everything is tip top!
