I have this light on increased emissions is showing now i've just replaced all vacuum hoses and cleaned erg valve also ive replaced my throttle as it was buzzing constant even when car was locked. I have checked the vacuum suction on the egr valve and there is none at all even when you rev the car so im guessing reading other threads it could be a pressure converter? or electric valve im not sure can anyone confirm if there should be suction from the pipe when engines running what you guys think the problem is, also my battery is low as I don't do lots of miles so it does need a charge could a flat battery cause the emissions light issue? thanks to anyone who has knowledge on this and who is willing to help here?

update I have ordered a inpa off ebay so should be able to read codes Tuesday but im taking car to Halfords to get it read tomoz, after reading threads on here regarding thermostats I checked mine today well the temp anyway my cars temp is between 58-62max and on the motorway 62 was the highest it went to giving it some in 3rd gear too, sat in traffic it went to 72 max so im wondering if my car has done a regen in the 19 months ive had it or even longer also could my dpf be blocked now? how would I know this if I change thermostats and it does a regen could that cause a lot of expensive problems, I presume this is why my mpg is 23mpg and also could this be why I have "increased emissions" light on or is that still prob maf or pressure converter? any advice please guys what should I do regarding dpf will the inpa of ebay tell me if dpf is blocked?

not 100% sure mate if its maf but car drives fine now and if it was maf maybe it wouldn't , just checking my service book and I cant see its had a fuel filter change at all when its done 103,000 so I will be changing that too, just to double check the maf sensor is connected to the pipe which leaves the air filter is that right.

The top looks like electric valve.egr PC connects indirectly to swirl flap activation.you should be abke to trace the vacuum line from the egr into the middle of the block.right hand side as you liok into engine bay.there you will see PC with an electric socket at ine end and two parrallel vacuum lines coming off it at the other..I'm on my fone and can't seem to attach a pic of my old one.when I get in I will try again.

the top one is connected to my swirl flap control its exactly the same as the bottom picture which connects to my turbo I swapped them round but it seems they both work the same. im wondering if the top pc should connect straight to my egr and not the swirl flaps I removed the swirl flaps but wondering if I didn't connect the vacuum pipes up correctly, ive looked on realoem to find the vacuum set for swirl flaps but I cant fine it.

Think I will get the code read again tomoz and I do think it is the pressure converter just its ÂŁ85 wasted if not and if it was the maf then I think I would have driving issues I know I did on my old Vectra when that started packing in, just if I knew there should be suction for the egr to operate itall the time which im 95% sure there should be then it must be the pc as theres no suction at all from mine if you get time to pull the vac hose off a second to check I would really appreciate it, I don't have my plastic cover on so its a quick job but most people would have to remove plastic to check, thanks anyway mate if you get time or not think I will order a pc tomoz anyhow the car drives fine just annoying ping everytime I get in the car with the error code.

Think I should buy a pc too do you remember the part number or the website you ordered it from? if anyone has a 535 and don't mind pulling the vacuum pipe off egr to check if theres suction on idle and more when revs applied you may need a code reader incase a fault shows to turn it off again but I don't think it will if vacuum pipe is only off for a few seconds that would help a lot confirming mine should do the same and I definitely need a new pressure convertor. thanks

I cleaned the maf and map sensor and the car runs perfect no issues at all so if the egr isn't opening due to pc then I don't think you would have any running issues apart from high emissions fault which I have, also do you know if the same vacuum supply for egr is connected to hydraulic lifters? a friend says the tapping noise we can here when you remove oil cap sounds like tappets and this could explain it if they do share the same vacuum supply, what do you think? cheers

off the top of my head ,my code was 4502?? ,which led me to the pressure converter.yours are different codes.,is it running lumpy?too much egr at tickover can lead to poor starting and bad tickover.
i cant remember for certain if its supposed to pull vacuum at idle.mine certainly didn't,(and i havn't checked if it does now since replacing the P.C.
