So here goes i was driving down the motorway and realised id had the passenger seatbelt plugged. As driving along i unplugged it and let it be and nothing. Started the car this morning and as my passenger got in and buckled up we then set off and i drove off the seat belt alarm kept going off. So naturally i disconnected both belts and re plugged them in and it kept going off iv had to do the off few trips around town as i was taking my dad about. And its still going off regardless of both belts being plugged in its really frustrating as i cant seem to turn it off iv tried cleaning the seat belts but nothing. Can anyone please shed some light. Also just incase it helps this only happens if their is someone in the passenger seat has nothing to do with the drivers side.

Only reason i ask is iv read threads where bmw are asking up to 700 just to replace the mechanism which in my opinion is ludacris any.
Also thank you to those who reply in advance.

5 years I have lived with the seat belt alarm going off 66 time each time the car is started with the fasten seat belt indicator showing. I have been to 2 BMW dealers each suggesting the dash board need to dismantled to find the problem after their diagnostic. This simple fix worked for me and I hope for everyone else who has this problem. Thanks for sharing?
