Hi guys...i am new member....live in Ireland...and atm struggling to find an asnwer....i hope someone here can help me

So i have permanent 00449A code aka turbo actuator fault

What i have done (a part of throwing a lot of money at it)

Changed actuator only - still 00449A
Changed whole turbo with its factory actuator - still 00449A
Changed pressure pipe going to turbo from intercooler
Changed map sensor
Ista+ is unable to operate the actuator and its actually stuck in one position...basically not operating... Fuses are ok and when i unplug the actuator ista register it...so i assume the plug/connections isnt the issue...

No other codes at all...but 00449A

Car feels flat and kicks in around 3k rom.... Please can anybody kind help me before i splash more money at it...

Forgive me....but i literally bought multimeter yesterday...

I will run pin 1 and oin 2 against chasis as adviced and then check the resistance ..

With humble respect i would say with a little of more guide i can tackle any task.... Can you tell me...checking you mean the pin with ground/chasis if there is a power?

Pin 2 on the actuator is permanent ground(0 volts) from this pin the wire goes to connector X6011 pin 7 in the ecu box and then continues to chassis ground. Measure voltage at X6011 pin 7 should be zero. Check this connector for good connections.

Report back the voltage. Black probe on metal part of car body/engine, red probe on the connector

Yes looks like pin 2 of actuator is floating and not grounded/disconnected.

Try that first

**** sake what kind of clown manages that, shame you didn’t check the wiring before changing turbo and actuator.
at least it’s sorted now
Actuator was damaged...the vanes were stuck...so whats the chance that both were fucked...

I dont wanna sound silly but i feel now like main bmw specialist... After going through hell
.. please send me revolut or paypal....jokes aside...i will sent you a bier or two.
