Hi

BMW 120d e82 2010 m sport - N47 engine can anyone Id the EGR valve in my pic?

I did a search on YouTube and.the EGR valve on the 120d e82 apparently looks like a sort of flying saucer shape looking thing. The EGR cooler is the bigger silver metal block ..

Can anyone ID the EGR valve from the below pic ? If you can circle it or describe I woulf really appreciate it.

Looking to take it off and give it a clean

I did try and follow George's video here

But I can't quite ID the actual valve bit..I didn't take off the airbox though .

Is the intake manifold and cooler particularly hard to get to , take off and clean ? Only ever cleaned anything to do with the EGR system was on an old 2006 E90 I had (last car)

Unfortunately with this job I do a lot of short journeys and start stop traffic. I do give it a bi monthly Wynn diesel injector clearner and some mway trips

Once plastic scuttle trim off the manifold is fairly easy to remove, a boost pipe, few wiring plugs, plastic bracket for engine harness and then 7 or 8 10mm head bolts.
Cooler is simple to get off but you will lose coolant so have some g48 to refill. If you are doing manifold and cooler take manifold off first as it makes cooler easier to remove and then refit cooler first. Hardest bit is if the 2 T45 bolts are seized in exhaust manifold.
