Bimmerlink is for reading fault codes.
Bimmercode is for doing some coding modifications.
Both work well for what they cost and only a one time payment not like some others that you pat annually.

 

Albeit on E90 platform I’ve recently moved from Carly to both Bimmer products and can say they’re both superior at what they do compared to Carly. The one time costs compared to Carly’s yearly pocket pick should also be a deal breaker for those wanting to keep costs as low as possible. Anyway it’s a yes from me on both.

I prefer Bimmer-tool for monitoring and fault checking/clearing over BimmerLink, I personally think it's so much easier and cleaner to use. BimmerCode is for coding and nice to have though.

 

Is that an App? I cannot see it in the Apple store (maybe its Android?)

Does BimmerLink enable me to put the brakes in shop/maintenance mode so that I can replace rear brakes? It is my understanding that on my 2019 X5 this is necessary in order to release the parking brake.

I just received my OBD unit. I guess I should have known but its way smaller than I imagined it would be looking at the image I bought. Downloaded Bimmerlink and Bimmercode apps to my Iphone, so when it warms up a bit, its playtime
