I recently purchased a dashcam with the intention of plugging it into cigarette lighter socket at the front of the car. However, after reading some posts by US car owners I discovered they have an additional 12v power socket under the glovebox in the front passenger footwell. Having had a look at my car I can see a hole perfectly sized for a 12v socket in the location described but there isn't a socket in there. Does any one have a 12v power supply in this location (it seems like it might be an option when buying the car new) or has anyone had or heard of a 12v socket being retrofitted in this location on a UK car?
