Just come back from the garage and they have charged me £250 to replace the receiver in the rear strut for my remote control (it was corroded). What I found interesting is the mechanic telling me that this was a design fault and that BMW have modified the receiver since, and provided mastic protection on the replacement parts to prevent corrosion. Surely this is a "fit for use" issue and I should be able to claim the amount back from BMW -- anyone have experience of this?
