Hi all,

I have a 330CD Auto and overnight my wing mirrors have developed a fault. Once started up after about a minute or two my drivers side mirror decides to point to the ground! Try and move the mirror by the switch and it does all sorts of funnies! Move the switch up and it goes right, move it left and it goes right, move it down and it goes left, etc etc. Switch it over to the other side and that goes mad too!!

Leave it for a minute or two and press the memory button on the driver seat and the mirrors re-position themselves. Or drive for a while whilst pulling out remainder of hair, move the switch to re-position them and they are fine!!

Has anyone had this before, if so what was the answer??

Many thanks
Paul.

sounds like something to do with the feature where you put the car in reverse and the mirror points to the kerb, no idea what would be causing it to randomly happen though, some sort of switch on the gear stick assembly maybe?

you could try , if it has electric memory seats , fill the all the memory slots , i know this works no memory seat/mirrors . if no memory seats , take the motor out of the mirror and make sure that there is no water or corrosion in the electrical plug thats plugs in to the back of the motor . hope this might be of help as i have had these faults on 46s befor

Thanks gunslinger, I shall try it when she gets back from work tomorrow as she does have memory seats. It's not just the mirrors not working at times, especially when the weather changes, they also point out to the sides, up down etc. This is BOTH of them. At the moment they do nor work at all, on the switch or in reverse. It's all very well having super duper electronic gadgets, but when they go wrong! your in deep do do!
