I would check that the rear spring has not broken. Also check the rear shock top mount....:thumbsup

 

Stupid question but will the spring be visably broken or how do I check top mount? Can I drive carefully like this for a few days until I get problem sorted?

 

If you jack the car up and remove that wheel, you should be able to visually inspect the rear spring. Its very common for the bottom coil to snap off and rattle around in the rear arm. The rear shock should have very little side to sid or up and down movement in the top mount...:thumbsup

 

also check the brake linings aren't loose,especially the handbrake shoes.
and also make sure the anti roll bar bushes and links are all tight

Problem was brake pad was wrong fitment and had been ratteling in the caliper when driving. Problem solved thanks for advice guys
