I am about to replace the fuel pump under the passengers seat - it has gone noisy and I am starting to get occasional intermittent starting problems.
I have just looked at the underside to see how the under-panels come off. I can see several screws to undo, but there is one nearest to the side that appears to be screwed in from above. This one looks key to removing the smaller panel that extends over most of the pump and hooked into the larger central panel.
I am probably missing something, and probably being very thick but how do you meant get these panels off?
I have searched the forum but can get no clue.

It is confirmed - am thick!
The offending screw is a hex 'nut' - my excuse is it was covered in 8 years of gunge and just looked like the pointy end of a screw.
Once this was removed the left hand panel needs to be moved towards the front of the car. It is retained by a notch on a tag at the rear end where it joins that panel. Once moved forward it just hinges down and off the plate along side.
