Hi, I just acquired myself a nice, shiny green 14-year-old 318ti Compact! First BMW I've had, and I know it's about as low-rent as BMWs get, but I'm liking it already...
The service indicator is saying it needs an oil change. However, the service handbook has a stamp in it saying it's had an oil service within the last 500 miles or so! I don't know the garage, but there's nothing to indicate it is a BMW dealer or specialist (and with a car this age it's not exactly worth spending main-dealer money!), so possibly they didn't know how to re-set the indicator themselves, or have the equipment.
Is there any way I can re-set the indicator myself? Or can it only be done by plugging into a BMW computer?
Thanks!
Richard
