Hi sorry if this has been ask before. I've got a 93 325 E36 and would like more power from it, but at the same time not limit the engine to a inch if it's life. i got the car mainly for track days but do some times use the car on the road. I've heard that the manifold change and chip would help but don't want to waste my money as i have seen people say they spend hundreds on mods and it don't really work and can lose power. Also i've heard you can take the brakes of a 530 to uprate them, is this true. Thanks

Try superchips

One of the best off the shelf tuning chips, futher more you could take your mota and get it re-mapped, most tuning companies, like Torque Of The Devil, http://www.torqueofthedevil.com/default.asp will be able to re-map your standard ECU or install your superchip, if you can't yourself, although a re-map would work best if other mods were done, due to there being a limit on the standard parts, the standard is more fuel n air in, more power out, although this isn't always the case!! If you want to tune your engine best bet is to get it rolling roaded first, approx ÂŁ45.00 per hour, then you have a bench mark in which to go from. Once exhaust and intake is done a re-map would be required to adjust the timing for the new amount of intake and exhaust gases.

Hope this helps

Audisport, not sure if the brakes will fit, but seen as though you use mainly for track you can get more pace from fitting better brakes, as you can brake later, better suspension so you can corner quicker, although people think power is the most important thing, if you can out brake another driver and go round the corners quicker, your going to be quicker than them, I could go on about tyres, camber, toe in etc etc. but hopefully you get my point!! ;)

The 325i e36 will need a chip.

Evolve do one http://www.evo-s.co.uk/shop/index.php?cPath=6_3100_3101_3251.

You could also try Emaps http://www.e-maps.co.uk/products/BMW/3+Series+(e36)+/.

Otherwise look here http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/f37/e36-325i-m50-non-vanos-remap-or-piggyback-t13785/ :D

What you need to remember is just because it has a ECU doesn't mean it can be remapped, if the memory chip is read only then it can't be reprogrammed(remapped).

Also I've moved this to the tuning section :)
