I am a beginner, and I have some nice AC schnitzer alloys fitted with 235/35/ZR19s, i wonder if they will fit on my 1998 e36 328i Convertible without rubbing and no mods? e.g rolling fenders to accomodate the wheels as people say or in the extreme using the coil over suspension?
Just to get a second opinion. Ebay power seller "bmwautosport" reckoned they would go, but i'd need to use 235/35/19 tyres all round so the rears would have a little stretch so to clear the arch's? I this the case, does anyone has experiences with this?
Many thanks for your considered opinion
Thanks for the reply Drs,
Bigbenstrikes the alloys are as here, Rim Width = 9.25J
Rim Diameter = 19 inches). I have fitted with 235/35/ZR19s, load index 91 tyres, (2 x Michelin ps2 and 2 x Continental sports contact 3)
Got them here, full description there,
I have had a look at the back of the rims, here are some numbers
ET 33 RB 18 19 x 8.5 (is this the correct rim width? maybe the guy misadvertised)
M PCD 120 x 5H
Please can you confirm that ALL four wheels have the same markings as above:thumbsup
I once used an ET35 on an 18" using 225/40 18 tyres and had to have the arches rolled.
Et33 would be further OUT and with the 235/35 19 you would definitely need arch mods and even then it would be close.
I look forward to seeing if there are any new findings on closer inspection:thumbsup
Lovely looking wheels for sure, really suit the car. If you got them for a good price then I say spend the money and see what you can get done to MAKE them fit:hihi
looks pretty much the same on the eye, and the numbers are the same, so you reckon its a no go? And this rolling, is it something the likes of Kwik fit can do or its highly specialised and perhaps you have pointers where I can go? and i take it coil over suspension etc are futile?
thanks guys
I wouldn't let kwik fit change a tyre let alone roll an arch mate.. thats something specialised realistically.. plenty of places that can do it though, best go to a bodyshop :thumbsup
as far as coilovers.. that would lower the car more which isn't going to help..
ok, many thanks guys, i probably have to fork more pounds to get this done, will be a shame otherwise . Funny because i also popped in at the BMW dealers in London and asked the guy there, top of his head he reckoned they'l fit, maybe it was just a guess on his part. And if anyone comes across anything or anyone with similar experiences please let me know. Much appreciated
Hello
Does anyone know any reliable specialist who can roll arches? do good paintwork if need be. I stuck in those 19" fronts, look good, slight touch on full lock, for the rear its close, four fingers go in there for clearance, no strange sounds when driving, but who knows when laden and on big bumps
worrying, I'll have to look at the liner, its really only on a full lock. I was more worried with the rear, and the small gap left expecially when laden or on bumps, hope lip roll can help, at least thats what archenemey http://www.archenemy.co.uk/
It's looking good and to be honest I would take a look to see if those arch liners on the front are fitted as they're supposed to because it looks like one may be loose which may be your cause.
Glad they went on okay, It's suprised me to be honest:hihi Is your car standard height at the moment?:cool
The car is standard height, havent touched suspensions or tried lowering etc, will work hard to see if i can get this package to stick, perhaps i can get an expert to have a good look, someone mentioned R-TEC guys are good?
