Hi there,
I have an E46 2004 318i M Sport and I love it. The ride, looks and feel are perfect for me. The only problem is that it is not very rapid unless I am in third and fourth gears getting up to 5000 revs.

So, my question is: Do I get this car tuned to improve performance? or do I get another BMW with better performance?

Go for a 325i / 330i.
Lovely engine note, smooth, effortless performance.

no pint in getting an ecu chip on a petrol you will only get a very marginal hp output unless you are thing of adding a better exhaust, air filter and a turbo or supercharger and for the cost of all that you will be getting nearer to the price of a used 325 anyway especially with a trade in.

Thanks guys. I really like the E46 look, so sadly I will go for a bigger engine version. Always a risk though as my used BMW has given me no problems, and you never know what the next used BMW will be like.

imo the 318 is a bit gutless my mates 1.6 fiesta sport can keep up with me i will be upgrading when my insurance gives me an inch
