Hello Bimmers,
With £2 petrol/ litre on the horizon I am keen to learn pros: cons of LPG conversion and lack of boot space may make this a non starter?
All advice as an LPG virgin wellcome?

I ran a Lpg E60 for several years. If doing high milage it's worthwhile, the only reason I went to diesel was that BMW went to direct injection and no kits were available to fit. I don't know if that has changed now, but if your car has direct then that's a consideration.
Don't bother with a cheap kit or fitting, go for brc or prinz otherwise you are likely to have reliability issues. They will cost you in excess of £2000.
Your mpg on gas will be lower than than on petrol, from memory it was about 80%. When I had gas, it was half the price of petrol, now it's only approx 2/3 so the saving is a lot less, the payback for my system was break even at about 40k miles. So it takes a while to just get your money back.
If you have a spare wheel well you can have a donut tank, means you don't lose boot space.

It may sound as if there are a lot of negatives in this answer, don't get me wrong, I think it's the best fuel for a car and is more planet friendly but even if DI issue has been sorted I would struggle to justify due to the lower miles I now do.
