Just a quick one :thumbsup

Car passed MOT back in December with a fair few advisories. I'm planning on resolving these asap.

I've had a price back for the following work;

Front Lower Arms & Rear Mount Bushes

Track Rod End & Tracking

2 Front Brake Pipes

2 New Kuhmo 215/45/17 Tyres

Remove/Secure Exhaust Heat Shield

Price comes to £592.00 +VAT

Does that sound right? :thumbsup

Unfortunately, I don't.

I do know I was previously quoted for the front lower arm rear mount bushes and tracking £135.00 +VAT

Forgot to add, also asked them to remove/secure exhaust heat shield. But can't see that being much.

Got a breakdown....

Two new tyres - £180.00

Front Lower Arms - £120.00

Bushes - £19.00

Track Rod End - £28.00

Tracking - £25.00

Front Brake Pipes - £40.00

Labour - £180.00

So assuming the tyres are priced without fitting, I think £90.00 a corner is expensive for Kuhmos. Considering black circles fitted I got a price back at £74.00 per corner.

Don't know about the rest but I think £40.00 for 2 front brake hoses is expensive?

Help is appreciated :thumbsup

c3 hours labour doesn't seem unreasonable (others will comment) - you can check the parts prices yourself online - if you can get them cheaper will your locaL guy mind? I had two new brake pipes fitted to my Wife's Volvo last week and they were £17 each. The tyres do seem expensive though - why not back them out of this work and get them elsewhere - I pay about £60 for 205/55/17 on my Wife's for Dunlop.

What garage is this mate? One in Ipswich?

I got 4 225/40/18 Kumho Tyres from GW Tyres in Ipswich last January for £250, so I would check them out for tyres locally, or use Blackcircles, I've used them before :thumbsup
