The n57 whilst it doesn’t have catastrophic failure like the M engines they do still have problems, the metal spindle wears the plastic flap so they become loose. Also the flap motor has feedback to DME so it flags a fault and puts in limp mode if motor does not fully move with sticky flaps.
I deleted mine as it prevents future problems and it’s very easy to do. You need a blanking plug for end of manifold when shaft is removed, you will also need to put a stop on the motor so it does not go past it’s max movement or get it deleted in the map.
Personally I would leave DPF in place as you are leaving yourself open for a fine should you ever get stopped by a roadside VOSA check, any decent MOT tester will also fail it.
What country do they do on the road emissions? That’s a non issue in the US just a inspection once a year and luckily I live where it’s only a safety inspection. No OBD2 to deal with I’m glad I don’t live in a place like that.
