Hi,

My car stereo doesn’t display the last lines of its display properly. I think it’s always been like this since I bought it second hand but I can’t believe it’s normal. Does anyone know what’s going on with it and whether it’s fixable?

Thanks in advance.

(Apologies for image being upside down - it was taken when i was in Australia).

It's not a common issue, all I can say is how the LCD works; it's connected to the circuitry either with a ribbon or some other conductor. Most likely it's this connection that has begun to fail.

To attempt a repair, you'll need to remove and open the head unit and inspect the connection. I've no idea how easy this is to do, but bear in mind you could easily make it worse and lose the lot.

Failing that, replacement head unit from eBay.

If you're handy with a screwdriver you may as well have a poke about?
