As above there is smoke coming from round the egr valve can any one think of were it would be coming from also when i remove pipe to egr and start car there is smoke coming from the pipe any suggestions? The pipe to egr is new and it had new vortex breather a few monthes ago is it possible that there would be a small leak some were on the egr valve or dose the egr cooler and pipe work just below it likely to leak chears nick

Exhaust fumes flow from the engine to the egr,so you are going to see smoke there with the engine running.
The leak is either from the round clip on the egr or the egr to manifold gasket.

Chears m8 so theres suposed to be smoke coming from intercooler pipe?

no the intercooler pipe should be clean, the exhaust would be coming from the smaller diameter pipe entering the EGR, on the left hand side.

If there is smoke coming from the large intercooler pipe its probably from the crankcase via that small pipe that joins into the intake snorkel.
