Was expecting new X5 this week - dealer told me they expected the car this week; today they told me that it was held in Southampton for a recall component to be swapped. I thought dealers did that work - have BMW really got facilities in the port to work on cars??
Sorry if I'm too distrustful but I wondered if anyone can say : "yes that's normal" or " no - you're being strung along"
Can't see what the dealer would gain by lying as they could just have told me "it's delayed"

I live in Southampton and all I see at the docks are hundreds of cars in a huge multi storey carpark with drivers driving them on and off of the ferries …. Can’t be certain that they don’t have facilities there but I haven’t seen anything that looks like that.

More believable would have been "It's just been held up, we don't know why", no need for bullshit additions.
