As per title, would it be feasible to replace the M51 engine in my 525tds with any of the M57 varieties?

It is possible but would be a nightmare, you would need wiring loom, EWS module, Ignition barrel, DDE(ECU) e.t.c, so not a straight forward engine swap I'm afraid

Ah thanks for that, I hadn't considered all the technological junk that goes wrong with cars these days.
