Hi all,

I've been debating what would be more worth while and cost effective doing, purchasing an aftermarket system (cat-back around £600-£700) or chopping up and welding my factory one (by a professional!). I have a 2002 330ci sport, if anyone has any experience with either let me know what you went with and what kind of sound you had from it! I'm wondering what the benefits are from removing the rear box and/or resonator of the factory system.

Many thanks,
Matt.

An exhaust system is a carefully engineered component that is designed to suit the car
Diesel exhausts are not like petrol versions in the noise they make .The turbo kills the sound waves that produce the noise in a naturally aspirated engine .
I wouldn’t bother you will be making it harder to sell the car when you want to move it on
