Hi there,

I intend to follow the details from this link to retrofit lumbar support to my 330i Touring driver's seat (non-sport, manual)

http://www.tmk.com/lumbar/index.shtml

I have the part numbers - do I have to buy at crazy BMW prices or is there somewhere else I can source these parts? When I try to find parts online I just end up with links to breakers etc....

Thanks,
Andy

Thanks Ronnie, I've just priced up the parts just for the driver's seat and it's well over £200! Looks like I might have to keep scanning ebay. I've called all sorts of breakers but it seems that seats with lumbar support are very few and far between - you can identify them by the circular 4 way switch on the side of the seat. Then, the probability of finding an interior in grey leather, for an E46 Touring gets to be very low......

I'm still trying to think of a better option - doing it myself had seemed the correct route...but £200+ and still the chance of getting something wrong and damaging the car....and needing an autoelectrician to run power to the seat (as mine are manual)......it's all a bit painful!

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Andy

you're probably better off finding a set of electric seats and selling your existing ones I'd have thought.

You're absolutely right.....but you'd be amazed at how rare it is to find these in grey for a touring.....and including the Lumbar support - even with electric seats the lumbar adjust is often not there.....

Another thing that I have certainly considered. They would need to be normal not sports seats but I'm sure that I could either make the covers fit or even get them re-covered by a specialist. The biggest issue is finding a seat that has the lumbar support. As I say, there are lots of seats out there with the basic electric controls, but I've seen none since November on ebay or anywhere else with the lumbar support control......and I'm good at finding things on ebay....
