Just noticed this bubbling, not sure what caused it but will it be covered by BMW warranty?

hey m8..av not evn seen your pic..but if its a bubble or blister then the bm warranty should cover it..up2 6years old...i know this coz a month ago i went too get my bumper adjusted at my local bm dealer and i know the manager off the bodyshop..he noticed a tiny bubble on my rear wing and sed i was still covered..and mines is an 04 plate!..its an individual paint that bm dont evn do now tho they can get it..av got stone chips as well...but bm want £700 just too spray the bonnet and front wing!!!get it sorted while you can.

Thanks for that, I was a bit concerned if it would be allowed as if you look at the pic properly, click on it to make it bigger, I wonder if there is a stone chip at the base of the bubbling and if this was the cause they may disallow it as some form of wear and tear?

I can only find out by getting down to the dealers I guess I guess, I wonder would they just re-spray that one little bit?...the side area leads onto the whole roof as one panel and then on down to the back...seem to go on forever...

I was trying my hardest to check that part out. It may well be a case that water has got into a very small chip and has been forced under the paint. Do you clean your car with a jet washer? I don't think ordinary motorway speeds would have such an effect:confused

Twas bought for a pittance (£7495) and this occured with the previous company owner who probably didn't care how it was washed. Bucket and sponge man myself. Well I'll let my local dealer have a look and report back, might get lucky and have a free re-spray waiting for me!

Are there many stone chips elsewhere on the body? You could try defending that it's an odd place to get a stone chip :rofl

If you push the bubbled area does it feel solid underneath? If not then it may well be where water has been forced under the paint:frown

Yeah the bonnet and front fender need a full respray, shame this bubble area isn't connected to those two! Car has done 145,000 miles is the need for the respray (think thats going to cost me £600-700!)

Still anything you can get for free sounds good, will have a drive down to the dealer tomorrow.
