Hi

I have a BMW X5 2002 E53, I understand there is an issue with the amp on these and that will be what's causing my drivers door speaker to fail, my question is in 2 parts

1. If I buy another head unit Alpine or Pioneer etc won't these have built in amps and therefore I can bypass the faulty one?
2. What functions do I lose from installing this ie steering wheel control etc.
