I am in the process of buying a BMW 118iSE 5 dr it has 17500 on the clock and it is a September 06 model.

This is a return for me to BMW having previously owning an E21, E30 and an E36, despite their old age at the time they were superb cars, a three seires for me now is simply to big and not required so the 1 series seemed a sensible option.
I was told to avoid the 1600 (petrol) and a diesel is no good for me as I do no more then 7000 miles a year. The car is dealer approved and comes with all the usual warranties etc. is there anything I should look for.

Common faults for petrol engines not sure

Look out for DSC failure, Blocked washer jets ( they get gunged up)

forgot.......

sticky door handles, expensive run flats (buy a space saver!! and use normal tyres), rear wash wipe is rubbish on early cars, tiny boot,


on the plus side - excellent handling

Cheers I have seen the boot and it is fine with me, as for the rear leg room it is relative as we|I rarely carry passengers.
