Here is a picture of neat solution for a Garmin Nuvi that took just 1hr to fit this afternoon...
You can buy the KUDA GPS attachment from the guy I used (from Germany) and he e-mails in good English!

You need to get some cheap plastic tyre levers from a bike shop to prise off the silver dash inserts to fit the KUDA console and then you drill and fit anything you like - even my Mrs likes it and she normally hates aftermarket GPSs!!!:jaw-dropping
I fitted the power cable behind the dash and Scotch-locked a female cigarette lighter attachment to the existing one in the centre console - nice and neat and switches off when you turn off the car.
Better than a nasty sucker on the window too.
