I returned from holiday to find that the battery was flat on my 2009 325i tourer. It charged up OK but after a few days I started to get various warning lights which ended up with ABS, DSC,brake failure, steerring fault, air bag, seat belt, and service due (only done 300 miles ago) all on.
A very helpful garage connected it to the diagnostics which said there were no faults stored so he turned all the lights off. In no time at all they were all back on and this time the diagnostic said there was a fault in the rear offside wheel speed sensor. He cleared that and all the rest of the lights but I was nearly home (1hr+) when they all came on again.

my question is, Is it safe, as I have read, to disconnect the negative battery terminal for 10mins to purge the computer, and if the speed sensor is OK is it wise to insert a spacer to stop it hitting the reluctor ring ?
