Good morning,
Firstly my apologies if I have posted in the wrong section. I know not strictly a BMW but my car has the N47 engine and I suspect the workings of this part are equivalent in both (apologies, I am not a mechanic!)
Been having some issues with my Mini Cooper Diesel 2012 (N47 engine) and wondered if anyone else had experienced similar issues.
Bought the car last year as a private sale on 77k miles. Had the timing chain replaced as a precaution at a specialist which all went okay and then a few months later, started experiencing some weird codes (I'm not linking the two together but just as context that it's had a new timing chain / dual mass flywheel / clutch).
Check engine light (amber) kept coming on very intermittently, perhaps once every couple of weeks. When the light triggered, the car would go in to limp mode and after about 5 mins of driving, it would go back to normal. (No other symptoms other than limp mode and the light). I purchased BimmerLink and read that it had 3 errors, these being:
I therefore took it to my specialist again and they did a complete carbon clean on it, including removal of the intake manifold and manual clean, along with replacing all glow plugs.
Unfortunately this did not work and the light reappeared, albeit this time only 449B Charge Pressure Controller - same as before, in to limp mode and out again within about 5 mins of driving.
I was then advised that there was an error showing up for the Turbo Actuator, so I replaced this and this got rid of the error for about 4 weeks - but it has now just started reappearing. Same symptoms as before.
The only code which is persisting is this 449B code... specifically, "449B Charge pressure controller, position sensor or status line" - "Signal or value above threshold".
Has anyone had similar issues, or any advice as to what might be causing this?
I've spent a fair amount on the car and am uneasy about giving up, but this is giving me a headache and it somewhat feels like there is no end in sight to this saga!
Thanks in advance.
