In the process of replacing air suspension bags and compressor and one of my locking wheel nuts has disintegrated.

What I'm left with now is the remains of the lug stuck in the wheel

I've tried a socket hammered on and also a set of tapered wheel nut removal sockets. The remains of the lug aren't high enough to get the tapered sockets on to a point where they grip sufficiently - just hits up against the wheel before it's on fully.

I've seen some removal sockets which are threaded and wondered if I might have more luck with them.
Other than that I wondered about welding a nut on (not sure there's enough space to get in to weld it and i'm stuck on my drive at the moment), drilling it out or drilling so I can break the head of and then dealing with the remains of the stud.

Has anyone got any suggestions?

Also can't really drive it anywhere to get this done because the rear air suspension is knackered.
