Leather will wear particularly if you often wear denim. I have suggested that some of my male customers start wearing skirts.... surprisingly some seem to have seriously considered this.

You should always restore the colour to the seat as you are now wearing the leather down, the leather will also wear faster as dirt will dry the skin. Thus ultimately ends up creating a hole and this more challenging to put right.

Clearly applying new colour will also ensure the seats look aesthetically good as well.

You should always clean the seats first, we have a cleaner if you wish to purchase, use a brush and get the cleaner into the cracks. Wipe clean with paper towel - you will continually remove the dirt.

I then recommend conditioning the seats ... whether this is positive on a BMW forum but our conditioner smells of old Jaguar/Aston Martin etc and has proven popular all over the world for the smell alone.

Leave for 24 hours for the conditioner to penetrate, then wipe with a damp cloth to remove excess.

On a "bruise" as you might find on a side bolster, sponge the colour onto the bruise and or the whole panel. Then leave for several hours before applying a fresh coat of colour. Do not be too keen to cover the damaged area, patience is a virtue. Apply additional coats - sponging in until you are content.

On cracks we do have a filler but suggest that first you try this technique. Sponge colour into the crack, leave for a few minutes then wipe over with a damp cloth. You're trying to remove colour from good leather and leave the colour in the crack. Then leave for several hours and repeat.

I divert telephones in the evenings and weekends and do answer until 10.00pm - though this is not a guarantee, but if I am working and the phone rings - I will answer it.

You can send your chassis number together with the general descriptiuon of the colour eg grey, blue , beige and I will attempt to identify the colour correctly.

We only supply specific colours where we have identified (to the best of anyone's ability) the exact colour. Our colours have been derived from matching samples sent by customers for over 3 decades. We correlate them and create a database.

The BMW database is below ... there are other manufacturers colour databases available - see the website or email [email protected]
