Hi all

I want to get all my wheel laser tracked (uncles garage £50 ;) ) but if any parts are worn out I.E. Bushes will they not touch the car ? or is there anything I should be aware of?

Also what do you think of the price? and how long does it take.

My steering is about 10 degrees to the right so when you level the wheel it gradually turns right ha, rather annoying :0

Thanks all

What mileage is the car?

What sort of roads do you drive on?

Whats your diving style?

Car is on 149700

Roads vary with my job

and the same with driving, sometimes a bit quick and other times slowly and civil.

But I dont speed over speed bumps or hit bumps, I think climbing curbs have done it over time

Have any of the bushes been changed do you know?

Before the alignment I'd get the following replaced at a minimum:-

  • Front wishbones + rear "lollipop" bushes (Meyle HD £115)
  • Front anti roll bar bushes (Powerflex £34)
  • Front anti roll bar links (Meyle HD £18)
  • Front strut top mounts (Meyle HD £40)
  • Rear anti roll bar bushes (Powerflex £27)
  • Rear anti roll bar drop links (BMW part £20)
  • Rear strut top mounts (Meyle HD £15)

That lot will set you back around £270 in total but the car will handle a lot better and will keep its alignment longer.

Obviously some of the parts I've listed above are performance versions like Powerflex, and you could get OEM parts. However once fitted they'll probably out last the car itself!

If your budget can manage it then you can also change out the dampeners which should be done every 60-80k anyway. You can get Meyle parts for £140 for all 4 corners :thumbsup

Obvious answer, ask your uncle, we don't know what's standard practice there.

Good point, But I thought I should ask you great bunch first :)

Acording to my brother the car is fine considering and he said to just get it sorted. Worst case scenario is that the car will be tracked and i will be told to get the rubbers changed soon but do not stress :)

Thanks guys :)
