Hi guys E46 320CD convertible got a constant knocking noise from passenger side when driving straight even at lower speeds on flat road but when i press the brake it seems to dissapear.
Iv checked caliper its not loose its solid
Any help appreciated

• general check of your suspension (spring, top mount, shock)
• lollipop bush
• brake shield

What's the steering feeling like? Any play in it or knocking/noises when moving the steering wheel? Any uneven wear on the tyres?

No play in steering ita all fine iv just bought new drop links. New wheel bearings both sides new brake pads so i will fit them the weekend and see if the noise has gone.

Knocking means play and metal against metal.
You are saying when when applied brake it stopped, so you should check at brake area first...

So I doubt it is bearing....

When changing pads, also check guide pins (but bmw use very good guide pins ).
