I have a problem with my key fob (the diamond shaped key on my 2007e83). It stopped working so I changed the battery which seemed to fix it initially but now it isn’t working at all. It worked intermittently for a bit before stopping working altogether.
I am unsure whether the battery is faulty or the soldering has failed, whether it isn’t charging or whether I need to change the remote control module.
has anyone had this problem?
can I test the battery with a multimeter without cutting the key apart again?
is it possible to test if the charging function is working?
finally if the ratio control unit is at fault where is it located? Is it easy to swap out
