Had a few things done (estoril blue 97 840ci sport)

Decided to get a cat back ss exhaust fitted at Torqueflow in Birmingham - a great job as I know others have experienced on here. Aside from a little resonance at around 1500 revs it sounds great. Went for 3.5 inch pipes which fill the gaps in the rear skirt nicely (see pic). The exhaust note in the cabin was initially a little loud for me but after fitting a pipercross air filter it seemed to tone it down a little and now is just right - really pleased with it.

Needed a new aircon compressor and sourced a new Denso OEM unit with clutch from the states delivered @ £270
Have back ordered a new sunroof cover from the US as well as I plan to get a part respray done - have some paint blemishes/ chemical stains and the lacquer has failed on one of the doors - I'll get it done when I get the sunroof cover.

Just had some machined bolted 25mm spacers made for the front and slip on 7mm ones for the rear (rear ones are a bit too small if Im honest so I might get some bigger ones) - fitted them in line with Timms 'aftermarket wheels' recommendation on Meeknet- using steel shim and Klapton ceramic tape (thanks Timm). - see pic - before spacers)I have Hartge Classic 19" wheelsId been having some shimmy issues and had thought it might be due to a sticking calliper following some advice but there was no catching - the wheels spin really freely and will turn appx 15 times on one spin. I'm hoping its sorted now as its been doing my head in. No sign so far. Went to End tuning for a remap last Saturday - had a good result Enda wired everything up and breathed on it - the result is definitely noticeable - particularly low down and accelerating in 3rd/4th - just feels that bit livelier - also getting a predicted burble when engine braking in 3rd and 2nd - not loud but noticeable ......atb Dave

your car looks great! just doing a full renovation on mine too, tho atmo its more about keeping it on the road than making any improvements!

question about the a/c compressor, i need a new one myself, did you source one from the states because it was cheaper than just getting new from a UK BMW dealer?

Also how much was the sun roof cover?

thanks

Hi - thanks - it had been laid up for a while and had 43K on it when I got it in 2011 - its had all the usual suspension issues but all the hard work (and hopefully the expensive work (apart from the paint job ) has been done. I had a look at some reconditioned a/c compressors in the UK but I wanted a new OEM part - I was speaking to a BMW specialist who said that he had previously fitted one supplied by BMW but it was very expensive - I could have done more research probably but £270 delivered at the exchange rate then was a good price (Ive just checked my paypal account and it was actually £220 - must have been 270 fitted. (supplier - eurocarpartsguy) Sunroof is on back order with no firm delivery date yet ( supplier www.ecstuning.com) - I think it was 450ish dollars + delivery but its worth checking the site - I think the list price was originally over 650 dollars. Hope that helps Dave

Pipes look great.! If you are getting unwanted resonance you might benefit from some aftermarket exhaust dampers.... locate what part of the exhaust is buzzing and fit these.... there are many different types and will remove that unwanted buzz/rasp/bark.

Thanks - I'll have a look at this - it would be good to get rid of that resonance. Appreciate the tip :)
